1,000 Flags Over Mesquite
A Field of Flags Honoring our Nation's Military and Veterans
November 9-16, 2025
Mesquite Rec Center Field, 100 West Old Mill Road
The VVDAR, in partnership with the Exchange Club of Mesquite is proud to announce the Nineteenth Annual 1,000 Flags Over Mesquite, an awe-inspiring, annual week-long tribute honoring America’s military and veterans.
One thousand full-sized American flags stand with military precision in silent splendor, while VVDAR and Exchange members along with community volunteers stand vigil 24 hours a day.
The field is lighted at night, and visitors are invited at any time to walk among the flags and listen with your hearts to the silent stories of the thousands of brave Americans who have served and are serving our great nation at home and abroad. This is a free event for all.
Attend both the Veteran's Day and closing ceremonies and join your voice with your neighbors as we say “Thank You, and Welcome Home” to those who have served.
Ways to Get Involved.
2 Ways to Sponsor a Flag

Honor a veteran, sponsor a flag - watch it fly at the field - dedicate the flag in honor, or in memory, of one who has served, or is currently serving our country. All flags and materials utilized in the display are 100% American Made!
-
Just stop by the field anytime 24/7 during the Nov 9-16 week to personally sponsor a flag for $35. Receive a dedication ribbon to add your own description and attach it to the flag you choose in the field. After the 2pm closing ceremony on November 16, you can either take your flag to fly it at your home, or you can choose to donate it back to 1000 Flags, and it will proudly fly again next year.
